What a crazy busy week!

So what have I been up to this last week? Well...passing my immigration interview (!), packing up most of the house, weeding through what to keep or not, finding an officiant, and a ceremony location, all the general joy that comes with moving, and also attending a wonderful wedding for my friend Allysun.

Allysun and Reid were married last Saturday and it was definitely up there a a contender for one of the nicest weddings I have been to. The weather was perfect, there was so much love in the air, and everyone had a wonderful time. I even was able to convince Tim to dance with me for a good amount of time (I was shocked and thrilled, he is not a dancing type).

I wish I had remembered to bring my camera with me, but Tim's phone did a pretty decent job.

Hayden Harnett Painterly Helena wrap dress, Rebecca Minkoff MAC as a clutch.
Mmm lemon cake, with lemon icing/drizzle. The homemade cherry tarts off the right were to die for too.

Who doesn't love a giant balloon at a wedding?

Something Similar: Anthropologie Galah Dress vs Hayden Harnett Plume Wrap Dress

I was catching up on blogs this morning, and over at J'aime shopping, I saw a review of a dress that caught my attention. For one, a feather printed frock, and also, because Anthropologie's Galah Dress eerily reminded me of Hayden Harnett's Plume wrap dress.

While the Galah dress has an extra seem on the arms, the overall silhouette and print are definitely similar. I have the Plume wrap dress, and comparing how J'aime shopping looks in the Galah dress to myself in the Plume dress, the fit of the dress is the same.

I find that a wrap dress is a great piece and works for many different situations, so here are a few feather printed ones that have struck my fancy. Not affiliated to any of the following.

Love the colours of this one. It would be fabulous in the fall with boots/booties, tights, and a chunky knit cardigan.

BHLDN: What a perfect dress for a courthouse wedding

I think I am in love with another wedding dress...oh dear.

Is it wrong to have two dresses? We are having two "ceremonies"...

Outfit of the Day: Bright Stripes

Why are we able to wear sweaters and jeans in the middle of July? This isn't right, but I dressed according to the weather.

May I take a minute to explain how much I love this sweater? The colours are fantastic, and the drape? Love the drape. It sits all kooky and crazy, but I love the silhouette it gives me. If anyone has any of the solid version of it that no longer gets enough love from you, in a size small, let me know? I would love to re-home it for you.

Sweater - Anthropologie Orchard Grove Pullover, Gap Perfect Bootcut Jeans (go check out your Gap for good deals, I picked these up for $13!), Shoes- Kenneth Cole Reaction Snakeskin flats.

Happy Thursday! It is pouring out now, so I am thinking it will be a pretty chill day at work tonight. Yay!

Outfit of the Day: A bit of inspiration and change

So I wore this dress the other day, and the colours inspired me to switch up the face of my blog a little bit. Still a bit of tweaking to do with the header, but so far I am liking the change.

Dress - Forever21, Belt- my mother's old one, Sandals - Kelsi Dagger Luca

The green ring is a jade one that my grandpa picked up as part of an auction lot years ago.

Outfit of the Day: Officially One Day Behind

Hmm can't seem to catch up on backlog of photos and outfits at the moment. Yay for having things to post though eh?  That said, what is the first thing you do when you get something new? For me it is either stash it in the closet, or wear it right away. You can see below what I did.

Parameter Apothecary skirt, Epilogue Blouse - Anthropologie

Sun Hat - Ross in Los Angeles last year

Kenneth Cole Reaction Flats. I had one my sandals from Kelsi Dagger while running around town, but too lazy to put them on for pictures after I got home. Buckles are tricky that way.

Outfit of the (yester)Day: The Magpie Effect

In the last little bit I have picked up three feather printed things. I don't think I will pick up anything else, but there is something about the feathers that just draw me to them. I think birds have the same effect too, sort of magpie like. Feather printed things = Shiny things to me according to this rational.

Feather printed tank - Winners, Mustard Camisole, pants - Forever21, flats - Kenneth Cole Reaction

The back has this laced-up thing going on.

I really like how this shirt looks tucked in. I plan on pairing it with this skirt.

Happy Saturday all! Time for a bbq tonight :)

Anthropologie July Sale Finds

Happy Canada Day all my fellow Canadians!

Spent a lovely afternoon on South Granville St. with my friend Vivienne. We walked, window shopped, checked out some shops we rarely get a chance too, and had a great girly time.

And we did a little shopping. I really only had hoped to find the Orchard Grove pullover, but was thrilled to see these other two pieces.

Orchard Grove Pullover (sold out at the Vancouver store I think, but many of the Skewed Pullover left. I was lucky, last one left, in my size, with an extra 20% off.  I really wanted the previous solid version (neo-refinement pullover), but I just couldn't stomach the shipping and duty for the other one, and it wasn't around when I did manage to get to a store in the States.

The widely blogged about and versatile Apothecary Skirt. Both colourways available in Vancouver, though limited sizes. Not much to say that hasn't been said, great colours, length, snaps, and pockets!

And the Epilogue Blouse, previously called the Ivory Tower Tank (sold out online in all colourways). Again last one left, with an extra 10% off. This is a delicate pieces, but I can't wait to wear it with jeans, shorts, under things, and over dresses perhaps?

Hmmm seeing these all laid out together, I want to wear them with each other lol. I think the stripes and floral might be a smidgen too much, but I think the tank and skirt work well together...oh the possibilities.
