Ohh scandalous title! Or not, title stolen from the name of the dress. My mom helped me to decide on this dress, saying that "everyone needs a rust colour dress...or two...", as I was wearing my Compeer dress that day. Thanks mom! You know my colour choices very well.
All is pretty quiet in my corner over here, most of the excitement is that Tim has been looking at houses for us in his down time, and I love seeing what he has gone to go look at. There is no rush yet, but it is good to see what is out there, and the costs etc. Hopefully we find something within six months! Fingers crossed everything falls into place so that this can happen.
Bailey 44 "Kissing Friday" dress in orange, RW&Co mauve-ish drape cardigan, Old Navy herringbone tights, Lucky Penny Boots
This dress has a great set of seams that make for a very flattering silhouette, and nips you in at all the right places. Length is a smidgen short, but not obscene. Nice fluttery detailing on the front and up and over the shoulders. Only downside is that the tag says dry clean only, but in my case, I think it will hand-wash only.
RW&Co burnout drape cardigan detail.
Those boots are awesome, how were they so inexpensive?! That's a great find.
ReplyDeleteI have the same question as Mich - how did you manage to get those boots for such a steal?!
ReplyDeleteI think you'll be fine handwashing the Kissing Friday dress. Those dry cleaning fees can really add up! Whenever I think of dry cleaning an item I remember that Mitch Hendy line: "This shirt is dry clean only. Which means...it's dirty."
Hi Mich and JG! Thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeleteOhhh through old pop-backs in the online catalogs! This was last year I think, but they were suddenly there for $19.99 in size 7 and size 8, and the order was processed and not canceled. I figure they must have been a warehouse return, someone using the generous return policy, but they were new/never worn.
I think it will be ok hand washing too, I can't see anything bad happening with it :)
These boots are awesome! I've never heard of Lucky Penny. Where did you find leather boots for $19.99? Can I still get a pair?
ReplyDeleteOh Jess, how beautiful that Kissing Friday Dress is! I am still waiting for a second cut to buy it again (I bought it once and sent it back ... I feel like a fool but I needed a bigger size!). LOVE the copper color, it's so fresh!! And those boots are a STEAL times a billion. Just fabulous!! I love this outfit so much, thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sweet Laundry! Thanks! They are sold by Anthropologie, but these were from fall/winter 2009 I think? Lucky Penny boots are sold there, I think the ones with the 3 bows on the side are the same brand? Brazil-made.
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy! Aww you are welcome, thanks for stopping by! I wanted to wait for a second cut on the dress too, but it was just too risky being in Canada. Our orders are processed last I think, so I often get canceled items when they go on sale. I saw this one left down in LA when I went to visit my mom, so I took it as shopping fate :)
Your welcome the dress looks great! Cute boots too. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteMum
I'm crossing my fingers for you tow. I hope it all works out. I bet your Mum will be happy with you living closer.
ReplyDeleteI thought about the Kissing Friday Dress. Now that I see it on you I should have ordered it. Did you get this dress in LA Too?
I remember you said you found those boots in an online ecatalog. Your price beats my $40 pair of Saddle Seat boots I scored from Anthro the other day.
I really like the Gray with the Orange-Rust color. Will have to try that color combo. Gray isn't a great color on me, unless it's dark.
I have been browsing on-line greater than 3 hours nowadays, but I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely value enough for me. In my view, if all website
owners and bloggers made good content material
as you did, the web will likely be much more helpful than ever before.
