Outfit of the Day: Hello Work Mirror

I have officially joined the ranks of office workers-bathroom-mirror-OOTD-takers. Perhaps I might do better to empty my pocket from my name badge and a smile, I look pretty angry.

Outfit of the Day: Tuberose Lace Skirt

Happy Winter Time Celebrations everyone! I hope you are all having a great time with family, friends, or even just taking a break from work and school. Our Christmas this year was very quiet and small, just Tim and I, but it was nice. It was our first Christmas as a married couple, and I think we both just enjoyed the calmness. Maybe next year we will take a trip to visit some family during the holidays? I am hoping California (or Hawaii would be fun hint hint).

Tuberose Lace skirt - Anthropologie (christmas present!), Gingham shirt + tights- Old Navy, mustard camisole - Forever21, Scattered Locket Necklace - JCrew

The pattern of the lace is just so pretty. The skirt weighs quite a bit, but it hangs and swings wonderfully.

Evita Leather Blazer - Mackage, Dwell Studio Scarf - Anthropologie

Happy Tuesday!

Outfit of the Day: Maroon and Gold

There is a giant ruffle on my blazer/coat. I am ok with that. Last time I photographed this dress, I wore it like this. Wow, I need to mix this into more outfits, that was much too long ago. I prefer what I came up with today more then the previous outfit.

Shirt dress - Urban Outfitters, Belt - Forever21, Tights - Target, Blazer/Coat - Anthropologie, Boots - Farylrobin "Bounder"

Not much to say today. I planned on making meat balls in a sweet and sour sauce for dinner, but I used up all my brown sugar and forgot to buy more last time at the store. I wonder if honey or white sugar can substitute? I don't have molasses to "make" brown sugar either.

Woe is me.

Not serious though!

Outfit of the Day: Fluffy Shoulders

Halfway through my long weekend. What have I done so far? Tim came up to visit. We had fantastic burgers and frozen yogurt last night. Watched a soso movie last night (Waiting), definitely more a boy humor movie to me. Bought some fantastic bacon to have with brunch for today, it was so good.

Two layers of fluff on my shoulders. This dress has detailing on the shoulders plus my vest.
I might have to take flight.

Thinking about what to do tomorrow, what did you do on your weekend?

Ootd: Purple Puffs

Nom nom nom. Tonight is like my Friday night, with the weekend being one day? Off to eat sushi with Rachael and her mother, and hangout with friends tonight I think. I recently discovered how delicious Negitoro rolls are (tuna belly with green onion) thanks to one of my co-workers, so I plan on ordering that, hopefully spinach gomae, and some other yummy things. I think I eat sushi quite often, but it is really common here. Can't go more then 2 blocks without finding a restaurant pretty much.

Urban Outfitter's collaberation dress "Vasia by Ulla Johnson". I love all the puff-like print and pale purple colour. After taking the pictures, I changed to my brown belt, needed a bit more structure in the middle.

Ponte/leather leggings by Danier, purple cardigan from Jacob, Hayden Harnett Madeleine boots in brandy.
I rarely wear non-stud earrings, so thought I would share. I was under the impression these were my grandmother's, but apparently they were my mother's. Thanks for the correction mom :)

Ootd: February Air

Do you know the singer Lights?  She is from Canada, and her "February Air" song is very applicable for today's weather. It is COLD, but so gorgeous outside.

I really like this singer, she is a bit youthful, but I find that the catchy and upbeat music is terrific for when I am going to work in the morning. It makes me feel more awake by the time I actually get to work.

It has finally stopped raining enough for the backyard to no longer be all muddy and no fun to poke around in.  Here comes spring, hopefully, after this very cold front.

cream & pink dress - Urban Outfitters, Stitch-by-Stitch sweatercoat - Anthropologie, Gap tights, F21 belt, Pegabo khaki green otk boots

The sweatercoat is a bit crazy cat lady-ish, but it is so warm and cozy, and was a great price when I picked it up during my last trip to Seattle.  Buttoned all the way up looks great too.

Detail shot of the dress fabric. You can see the actual sky colour in this photo, so nice outside!

Have a great Friday everyone :)

Ootd: one part turtle, one part bird?

Since I am heading off for vacation soon, I had a few last minute errands to run and take care of.  There was a nice pause in the rain while I was out, and it has just started to come back in steady drizzle.  Score one point for great timing!

I will be visit my mother for about a week, so it might be pretty quiet on the blog front, but if I take any great pictures I will try my best to do updates.  Likely no outfit pictures though, I am not sure how easy they will be to while away.  We are going to Disneyland though so hopefully I can get some great shots there.

One part turtle = turtleneck!  This is one of my work shirts, but it was a perfect fit for this outfit
One part bird = well either the skirt, or the vest, depending on how you look at it.

I started the day with my shirt tucked in, and took some pictures before I headed out, and when I got home, I untucked.  I think I like the look better with the shirt untucked.  Any opinions?  Would love to hear them!
