Outfit of the Day: Last day of August

Last day of August, first day of fall weather? Pretty dreary outside this morning, but the weather this weekend should be nice. I am looking forward to the long weekend to spend with my husband (!).

I am still adjusting to my new location, filing forms, etc, so I am not really in the mood to put on fun clothes just to sit around. Oh, and my laptop died, yay!

Long time no see!

I think I am back! The house is almost settled in, and after this weekend, it will just be Tim and I around here. My mom will be here in a couple of hours and I can't wait to see her.

Finally got around to unpacking my clothing yesterday. Living out of a suitcase and moving to the states left me with a rather lackluster wardrobe of things I didn't care if they got dirty or torn. It is nice to have a selection again.

We made a trip to Target, and even Tim couldn't pass up on shoes for $6.49. These are very comfy and light, perfect for the hot weather. I think we are technically living in a valley, so it is hot these days, such a change from back in Vancouver, and having the ocean next door.

My life in 57 boxes + furniture.

The big move comes tomorrow. I must admit, I am a bit sad. I have lived in Vancouver for 24 years of my life, and tomorrow starts the next journey of my life. The pros are definitely outweighing the cons though, here I come, Seattle bound!

Apparently, my belongings that I wanted to keep/needed take up 57 boxes of various sizes.

Here they are (minus furniture)

To break it down into a more fashion friendly post out of the 57 boxes:

6 boxes of shoes/boots
9 boxes of clothing

Plus 1 rolling suitcase and 1 overnight bag that kept my last week of clothing.

Overall, not too bad! I can't wait to unpack at the new place during the next week. And decorate, and see my mother, and get married, and get some new furniture to fill in the gaps of what I am missing.

Fall 2011 Outfit: For Effortless Anthropologie's Fall outfit contest.

Fall 2011 Outfit
Now this is an outfit that I actually want to get, and if that dress ever makes it to sale, I really want it. I have a the Hayden Harnett bag in Persian Rose, and some brown oxford booties, so here is hoping things work out!. I apologize for the lack of posting, things should get back to normal soon, after I move to a new country next week! Please bear with me.

An August Wedding Outfit: Polyvore Style

I put together what I had in my head for this wedding using Polyvore. Not the best set, but I am slowing getting the hang of it.

The brooch is a bit different, not as spiky with a yellow and brown colour scheme. The bracelet is a pale green, but the same style.

Fall 2011 Wishlist

So it is official, I have my documents in hand, hello Redmond, here I come (in a couple of weeks).

Which also means I will be married in 3 weeks, and 3 days time. Eeks! Most of the house is packed, my clothing selection is small at the moment, and most free time when not working is devoted to house cleaning and fixing little things here and there.

Since I will have just moved, most expenses for the next little bit will be for house/moving/immigration expenses, but my favourite season is fast approaching.

Anthropologie Counting Angles dress by Plenty by Tracy Reese. I think this would be a great fall transitional piece. Would work great with boots and a leather jacket to me. It just got a second cut to $49.95...so tempting.

Forever21 black and brown knit blazer. I picked up a navy and cream one earlier this summer that is double breasted and I found it has been very versatile.  This version should be as well. Priced at $29.80, it has a nice fit, so maybe maybe.

Anthropologie Horkelia Shift in Orange. Ahh lace, and orange! Priced at $179 USD, I would like this to go on sale soon, then maybe. Perfect for fall with my staple uniform of tights, jacket/sweater, and some sort of boot.

What is on your mind for fall these days?
