I'm sorry...

...that things are going to be very sporadic around here for the next little while. I will be doing posts, but right now I really need to focus on moving and paperwork. I am in the final stages of completing my immigration to the United States to be with my fiance, and as soon as it is approved (next month!), I plan to move within a month. It's a lot to deal with right now, but the end results are so worth it.

I am still reading everyone's posts on their blogs etc, love the new stuff coming out in the new Anthropologie Catalog. Here are some of my picks.

Fatigue Finery Cape: $298 USD (eeks!)

Woven Saddle Boots: $278 USD

Strappy Dandelion Dress: $128 USD
Hmmm this actually would be a pretty cute outfit...wishlisted indeed!

And hello long weekend, for those that celebrate Canada Day and Independence Day, I wish you all the best, and some awesome bbqs!

PSA: Leifsdottir Cuts Sale Prices

Ah Leifsdottir, you expensive, quirky, did I mention expensive sibling of the URBN umbrella. You taunt me with your lovely cuts, fabric, and general uniqueness, and what is this? You reduced your sale prices! From $19.95 +, there are some good deals to be had. I have heard this brand runs a bit large, but take that with a grain of salt, I haven't tried anything on by them myself.

Sale link here.

My picks:

 $29.95 (reg. $198.00)
Grey sweater dress with a twist, would go with so much in the fall and winter.

 $39.95 (reg. $248.00)
Love the purple colour and the buttons. Looks like it would be flattering too?

 $49.95 (reg. $358.00)
The colours and pattern! Enough said.

 $29.95 (reg. $288.00)
Ahh feathers, love feather printed things.

Granted shipping is a bit much to Canada, likely better for you stateside gals.

Outfit of the Day: Purple People Eater Shorts

Quick, what is the first thing that comes to mind when you say purple shorts? To me, its Prince, oh yes, the singer Prince. Thankfully, these shorts are not that type of purple, though...a pair of purple velvet shorts might be pretty funky?

Shorts - Forever21, Blouse - old JCrew, Cardigan - Old Navy, Sandals - Kelsi Dagger Luca's (finally warm enough to wear sandals!) If you have an account at revolve or reverse, they are $20 there right now.

When I was reading my blog roll today, I noticed that Kim at Anthroholic wore shorts too today. Similar to her, I do not usually wear shorts, pretty much out of fear of jiggly thighs and pasty white blinding skin, but really, I am getting over that fear, no point in having it. Here is to breaking our comfort zones today!  How about you? Are you a short wearer?

Hello new home!

Here are a couple of pictures from the realtor of Tim and I's new condo. This is the previous owners furnishings, but I think some of you would enjoy seeing a bit of the new place. Sadly, I won't be down there for a couple of months, but each day I get closer and closer.

Here is the master bedroom. I am not 100% sure of the wall colour, but I kind of like the deep burgundy colour. Plus, my current bedding and rug match it already. This quilt and rug (the rug colours are more muted and purple toned in person):

The lower main deck. Can't wait to set up some deck furniture. We found a wooden set that we like at Ikea. The Applaro set, which is slated acacia wood. Bench link here.

The living room/dining room. I plan on painting the walls, likely a shade of green, with cream, dark brown, and orange accents. Can't wait to decorate!

Any suggestions for wall colours, ideas, etc? I would love to hear them, this is my first chance to really create our own space.

Outfit of the Day: Sorry for the slight absence...

I ended up working 8 days straight, so I had nothing to show, except for the few posts here and there. Should be back to normal now. Although, since we finalized our new house purchase(!!!), I think I might end up looking more and home goods/design things, would you all be ok with some posts on that, or would you prefer if I started a different page for that?

This is the gap dress all stylized and wearable. The style of the shift dress is a bit blocky, but I have no issues with wearing a belt on top.

Gap drop-waist shift dress, Target boots, F21 belt, Jcrew locket necklace.

Oh happy day! A day off! Sorry for the icky sun glare in the photos, my neighbours were gardening in the backyard, and it was a bit too strange to take photos in front of them.

Something Similar: Anthropologie Laced With Grace dress and...

...Gap's Drop-Waist Shift dress in Green.

Anthropologie's Laced With Grace dress. Such a pretty colour and the details. It is possibly a bit too frilly for me in the chest area. Also sold out before it got to a price I wanted to pay for it.

This one is Gap's Drop-Waist dress in green. The same pretty sage green colour, with an almost leaf-like lace or burnout pattern. With pockets, and a single button at the back neckline. While not as whimsical, it is a bit more my style. Also, on sale in store for $19.99 vs $69.95 CAD. The green is also sold out online, but ivory and peach are still there. Check for the green in-store!

If you missed out on the Anthropologie dress, but are in awe of the colour like me, this is a good alternative.

Plus, how cute is this skinny leather and glitter belt. It comes in rose-gold and silver. I think the rose-gold is a perfect neutral. I think it is $19.99 in-store vs $34.99 CAD online (link is for the US site).

Review: H&M black (pansy!) lace shorts + Outfit of the day

What I wore today:
Chromatic Canvas dress- Anthropologie
Old Navy linen-blend cardigan
H&M lace scarf
Target boots (only shoes that don't hurt my ankles at the moment)

Review: H&M black floral lace shorts:

I really really like these shorts. They are not low-rise, nor too short, with a belt of the same fabric. They have pockets, and are a nice thick fabric.

Er yes, backside view, but it is important with shorts!

Oh yes, those are pansies in the lace. Actually, has anyone else noticed the plethora of pansies at H&M?
I would recommend stick with your true bottom size (erring on the larger of sizes). I am between a 6-8 in bottoms, and these are an 8.

Outfit of the Day: Work BBQ

To celebrate everyone's hard work this year, we threw a bbq at a local park. Very low key event, but a lot of fun. There is a good chance I got a touch too much sun.

I had wanted to wear different shoes, but the back of my ankles are a bit torn up, too much walking in those All Black shoes + hot weater.
Ruched woven pants- Forever21 (here)
belt- from my mother?
Silk hammered camisole - Jcrew
short boots - Target Kaiala

What I like: Kelsi Dagger Mashita boot

Yes, completely out of season right now, and shearling-lined, but how adorable are these for northwest-coast winters? The wingtip detailing, small heel, and the height of the shaft are what I really like.

I would adjust the laces so they go back and forth like traditional lacing.

Found here (in size 8.5) use code "tulip" to bring under $80
Amazon here for way more, but more sizes $184
DSW has them in black here $120
and if you are a lucky size 9.5, here for $32!

Outfit of the Day: Little black party dress

I am off to a party with a theme, can you guess it? I hope so or I didn't do well. Which might actually be the case, I'm not very good at theme dressing in general.

All Black cutout mary janes - Anthropologie from last year? Gap ruffle dress (found here, cheaper in stores), re-worked pearl necklace, Kenneth Cole sunglasses - Winners

I love this dress, simple shape, but has lots of fun and movement in it.

Hope everyone's weekend has been going well! Still one more gorgeous day left to enjoy it here.

Outfit of the Day: In honour of the Canucks?

Sorry for the quiet blogging front, been an up and down sort of week. Finalizing a possible new house in the states, and just general busyness with work and friends.

It is also the end of Kim's month long shopping ban. Wow time flies! So how did this girl do? Well, a lot better then I expected, that is for sure! I ended up purchasing a scarf at the Anthropologie store opening party (I used my one cheat item for it), and the following blazer last week. To be honest, I knew I wouldn't make the whole month, but I am very happy with my progress. It worked to remind me that when I am bored, to not head out of the house to just wander and kill time, and other useful tricks such as not taking my debit card to work.

Outfit of the day: Canuck colours are about as sporty as I can get/have in my wardrobe. First game of the final round of the playoffs tonight! Go Canucks go!

Forever21 striped knit blazer, Parameter dress, Anthropologie obi wrap belt, Target boots

Green and blue, that counts for team spirit right?

Hard to believe that it is June already, time is flying this year.
